Sully's was a blast, BUT...

Was I really this pink?? A big thanks to EVERYONE for coming out to this one!!! Both the light and sound guys said they had never seen so many people there. We had fun with it...and apparently so did the interesting people on the dance floor...

Don't forget...Kirkpatrick's (Ashburn), March 11th, 9:30pm-1:30am. Make arrangements with your babysitter's now!

And now that she's 22...

Care to fill in the blank?? Happy birthday, Aunt Meagan!

Now that he's 5...

Tyler was sooo excited about turning 5 today. When I reminded him this morning he said "yes!!(accompanied by a bit of an arm pump) now I can play the Star Wars puzzle at Kai's house". I asked "why can you play it now?" and he said "because on the box it says age 5". He makes me laugh.

Idol Men and me, a wedding singer??...

Well, if I'm going to watch Idol I will for the guys. I caught the girls on Tuesday and wasn't that impressed. But the guys (two in particular...one from Richmond) are awesome. Then again, last year I wasn't impressed with the girls...and a girl won. So, what do I know...

As for me, I'm slowly but surely morphing into a full-on wedding singer. We just booked our sixth wedding for the year. Kinda scary.

The Grant Man...

Say hello to Grant!! This little guy loves his Aunt Mandy, I got him chuckling so much yesterday. Or maybe I'm just funny looking...

Where there is rock, he will climb...

After free-soloing and establishing this route, Ty's named it "Why I Love Malls" and rated it a 5.10. :-)

EXPO shtuff...

It's almost over...the EXPO is this Saturday and the much hated "heart" theme event will be over!! (Btw, I was going to take a pic of the "human slot machine" I had to decorate for this event but I deemed it way too gaudy...)

My 2 cents on FCPS...

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), I must say, is on top of their game. Well, to start off...Ty's was a late talker, in 2003 he started seeing a specialist from FCPS for his speech. So now it's 2006 and I can't get the little guy to STOP talking (this is actually a good thing)! But he still has areas which need an extra push so he still see's Ms. Carol.

Well, I had a meeting this morning with Ms. Carol and 5 other FCPS specialists and I'm just so impressed with the amount of attention/help he's getting. Tyler was classified by Ms. Carol as being one of her success stories. :-) I was relieved to know that, in Ms. Carol's opinion, St. Timothy's expectations as to where he should be in certain aspects were a bit unrealistic. (I also found out that Ty's school will have full-day kindgarden starting next year!! phew.... )

An interesting stroller...

It reads "DO NOT PUT CHILD IN BAG!". I'm on the line as to whether this is funny or sad.

Got the boy to carry my pack...

Next...how to belay mommy. :-)

Yup, that's him laughing right before he fell over. Really, folks...it wasn't THAT heavy!

The infamous banner...

Hey, I don't get to do so many full color projects so this one's getting a mention. The file size was horrendous, hence it's 'infamous' nature...

Adventures in ice climbing...

Well, I had my first taste of ice climbing this past weekend. Adam and I (along with Mike, whom we met up with there) headed up to North Conway, NH last Thursday and got a good 2 days of climbing in. We had a blast...but I definitely need to work on my ice skills!! I barely scraped up my first climb. It was ugly, and of course the guys practically flew up the ice! Not that I'm competitive or anything. ;)

We top roped right next to a highway the first day and Adam attempted a lead climb the second but that didn't work out so we ended up on top rope again (this time we were at a popular climbing area, Cathedral Ledge...very nice). Thankfully, I did improve on my second day. But nonetheless, I still took some really elegant (ha!) falls. There was a photographer hired by the ice festival (yes, there was an ice climbing 'festival' going on there in which we only participated in the Saturday night slideshow) and he got some pics of me and the crew. They actually showed them at the slideshow which was kind of neat. The pics of us aren't on his website but definitely check it out anyway because his work is absolutely gorgeous! www.brianpostphoto.com

I've succumbed to the world of blog...

...but we shall see how much I can keep it updated! Being the web savvy girl that I claim to be, I guess I'm a bit behind in starting this. So, with that said. Here goes!
